Emergency Site Works

Marches Biogas can undertake a variety of emergency site works required by any AD facility located within the UK.  The wide range of skills, training and experience of Marches Biogas engineers means that the company can provide emergency site works safely and at short notice wherever needed.  This service has been delivered nationwide to a variety of plants and emergency situations.

All Marches Biogas engineers hold CSCS cards, with several of them qualified as SMSTS site managers.  They are trained to work at height using mobile platforms in addition to working within confined spaces and with breathing apparatus.  They all work on live AD sites and therefore completely understand the risks associated with this type of work.

Marches Biogas operates an out of hours call out service so can respond quickly. When asked to undertake emergency site works, an initial site visit is made to assess the situation and advise on any immediate actions that need to happen to make the site safe.  A detailed set of RAMS (risk assessment and method statement) is drawn up with the involvement of all engineers and expert staff such as those specialising in the biological process or environmental regulations.  These are issued to the client for review prior to the works.  This can all happen within a day where required, but timings will differ depending on the severity of the situation on site.

Once on site, Marches Biogas will commence the works as per the safe method of working, often with the complete management of an area of the site predetermined with the client.

Examples of the types of emergency works Marches Biogas has undertaken include site attendance following the occurrence of serious accidents, refitting tank membranes, review of DSEAR zoning and site risk assessments, investigation into and management of foaming incidents and the breakdown of feeding, mixing and heating systems.

Marches Biogas has a good relationship with the regulators and can help to develop a plan or advise on steps that need to be taken to ensure that the site is compliant or that prohibition orders are lifted.  If your site is ever in need of emergency assistance then do not hesitate to contact Marches Biogas at any time of day, just call the office number 03332 079991.  If your call is out of hours you will be directed to a call centre who will in turn contact the on call engineer.
