Marches Biogas have built a lot of AD plants; hopefully this is not a big surprise to our loyal readership, our reputation goes before us with plants successfully operating right across the UK.

In the past we have built plants that have incorporated previous support mechanisms and now the industry has a new game in town; the Green Gas Support Scheme. It’s a government environmental scheme that provides financial incentives for new anaerobic digestion biomethane plants aiming to increase the proportion of green gas in the gas grid. The scheme is open to applicants in England, Scotland and Wales for four years from the end of November 2021.

We are pleased to confirm that Marches Biogas are on the build path again and are looking to create the next generation of biomethane to grid plants. These will tend to be larger than those built in the past producing from 600m3 of biomethane per hour, to put that into context that’s the equivalent of a 2.4 MW electrical plant – so they tend to be pretty large! Some of the feedstocks will need to be wastes or by-product derived which can be combined with a proportion of agricultural crops – it is complicated so please do give us a call and we can help you through it.

So, if you have a project that you think has potential, with area to build near a pipeline to inject the gas and the potential for waste and other feedstocks do give us a call and we will be delighted to design and build your plant. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
